The book of Philemon was no doubt included in the New Testament to teach us how to persuade others to do the right thing. Paul delicately appeals to Philemon’s Christian character to take back his run away slave as a brother in Christ. We will explore Paul’s gentle approach so that we too may incorporate these insights in our efforts to assist others to do the right thing.

Paul describes the church of Corinth as a letter of Christ known and read by all men. This metaphor is a marvelous picture of the powerful influence the Christian has in this world. We must make sure that our lives communicate Christ to others as a legible letter communicates our thoughts to a recipient.
